Samiksha T
Q: Who are you? Where are you from?
A: I'm Samiksha! I grew up in Mumbai, India, and now I’m based in Cambridge, MA.
Q: What’s your background? What did you do before Modulate?
A: I completed my undergrad in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, where I was introduced to the world of programming. I then worked at a fintech company for two years, which gave me valuable exposure to handling large-scale data. To further deepen my tech expertise, I pursued a Master’s in Data Science and Analytics at Georgetown University. I also worked as a Data Analyst at a nonprofit focused on global health for over a year.
Q: Why are you joining Modulate?
A: It is this -- Modulate is not only externally trying to make the world good via toxmod but also internally setting an example for other companies to be good by fostering a good culture by all accounts. The opportunity to work here is honestly a win-win for me!
Q: What’s your ideal work environment? Any special strategies you use to stay effective?
A: For me, the ideal work environment is one where there's open communication, room for continuous learning, and real transparency. To stay effective, I make it a habit to pause and reflect on my progress and I adjust my approach if something isn't working as well as it could.
Q: Tell us about something you must have in any culture you join?
A: I believe in a culture that celebrates everyone’s unique backgrounds and perspectives, where people feel valued and ready to tackle any challenge. That’s the kind of environment I’m drawn to in any team I join.
Q: Who are you outside of work?
A: Outside of work, you can find me exploring my creative side through painting, playing couch games, enjoying leisurely walks, or experimenting with new, quick recipes in my cozy kitchen.
Q: What’s something you’re great at that few people realize?
A: I’m really good at tasks that require precision and patience, like chopping or cutting intricate patterns -- basically, anything that demands a steady hand and intense focus. I could have essentially been a top-notch surgeon, haha!
Q: Leave us with a fun tidbit - a favorite joke, a story from your past, an obscure riddle, whatever you like!
A: One love, one heart! Let's get together and feel alright. - Bob Marley <3
